Transport

GEM GLSxx elevator machine are packed by the manufacturer for the types of transport and
storage agreed upon.
Position of attachment points
Transport the elevator machine either in the original packing (pallet or cage) using a proper forklift
or at the attachment points using a suitable lifting gear in such a way that the load on each eyelet
must be almost vertical (packaging must be removed in this case). DO NOT thighten the threaded
eyelets by tools (they must be tightened by hand only).
Make sure nobody is in the area of path of transport/lifting of the winch (danger zone).
When lifting the machine always use a safety belt around screws “A” but NEVER lift through these
screws, the safety belt MUST be UNLOADED and placed there only for safety redundance.
Transport elevator machine without any additional load and taking the centre of gravity into
account!
The threads in the shaft ends are not to suit eyebolts to transport the elevator machine.
Avoid excessive vibration and shocks.
Extreme heat or cold (transport temperature less than -20 °C or plus +60 °C) must be avoided!
Check packing and elevator machine for possible damage and report the forwarding agency about
any damages caused by transport. Shipping damages are not covered by our guarantee!
