Replace the
Hydraulic Tank Return Filter
Genie specifications require that this procedure
be performed every 1000 hours or annually,
whichever comes first.
Replacement of the hydraulic tank return filter is
essential for good machine performance and
service life. A dirty or clogged filter may cause the
machine to perform poorly and continued use may
cause component damage. Extremely dirty
conditions may require that the filter be replaced
more often.
Burn hazard. Beware of hot oil.
Contact with hot oil may cause
severe burns.
Note: The hydraulic tank return filter is mounted on
the function manifold next to the hydraulic power
unit.
1 Clean the area around the oil filter. Remove the
filter with an oil filter wrench.
2 Apply a thin layer of oil to the new oil filter
gasket.
3 Install the new filter and tighten it securely by
hand.
4 Use a permanent ink marker to write the date
and number of hours from the hour meter onto
the filter.
5 Turn the key switch to ground control and pull
out the red Emergency Stop button to the on
position at both the ground and platform
controls.
6 Activate and hold the platform up toggle switch.
7 Inspect the filter and related components to
be sure that there are no leaks.
8 Clean up any oil that may have spilled.
