4.6 Check cleaning and disinfection results
1. Visually assess the cleanliness of the processed
goods, according to local requirements.
2. Verify, that the disinfection temperature and time were
achieved by reviewing the process records according to local
requirements.
4.7 Handling chemical agents
WARNING!
Empty out all pretreatment agent residuess from
the containers before placing them in the
machine. This applies, for example, to acids,
especially hydrochloric acid, solvents and
chloride-based solvents.
• Pretreatment with detergent or disinfectant, for examples, and
certain types of dirt may result in increased lather formation.
The lather may affect the washing and disinfection result.
• Carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions for detergents
and special products. To avoid chemical reactions (e.g. oxy-
hydrogen gas) and damage to materials, the detergent must
only be used for the purpose stated by the manufacturer.
• Handle liquid detergents (for cleaning, rinsing, disinfection
and neutralizing) with care. These detergents often consist of
acids or lye. Do not add organic solvents as this may result in
an explosion. Wear protective glasses and protective gloves
when handling detergents. Always follow the manufacturer’s
safety instructions when handling chemical detergents.
• Do not use detergent intended for household dishwashers.
• Follow the dosing instructions of the detergent manufacturer.
The cleaning effect may vary between different detergents. If
a cleaning result is not satisfactory, try switching to a different
quality detergent from Getinge Disinfection AB.
4.8 Preparations for downtime
If a machine will not be used for more than 72 hours, it should be
drained of all process water. Contact a service technician.
