4.5 ImageBLITZ programming
The patented ImageBLITZ® technology provides an extremely fast, accurate
andsensitive trigger for image capture in high speed vision applications.
The trigger event has to be unique so that it corresponds with aspecific out-
standing gray level change. Thus, the event can be identified by the
ImageBLITZ sensitive line segment, making all elaborate sensing
devicesobsolete. Process synchronization takes care of itself.
Whenever the ImageBLITZ detects a trigger condition,the camera captures an
image andsends it to the frame grabber or directly to the application for pro-
cessing, storage and later review or for documentation.
IBThreshold defines the absolute limit for the difference in the gray values
within the image details. The value range is 1 to 255.
With a small value changes in the image detail let the ImageBLITZ trigger, with
a big value the ImageBLITZ trigger gets less sensitive. Under normal con-
ditions, this value should be between 10 and 70.
IBReleaseCondition defines the relative size of the area within the ImageBLITZ
window that must be different from the reference frame before ImageBLITZ
triggers. The value range is 0 to 100 percent. If you use a small value, e.g. 5,
then ImageBLITZ triggers when 5% of the image details are different.
The ImageBLITZ reference frame is the first frame of a recording sequence in
live mode. This is the first frame after AcquisitionStart, if IBEnable is active. If
IBEnable is not active if AcquisitionStart is given, the reference frame is the
first frame after IBEnable. In record mode the reference frame is the first
frame after starting the recording.
The programming flow of ImageBLITZ is:
