3.12 Synchronization
3.12.1 Overview
The cameras have an output pin that can be connected to a camera generated
SYNC OUT signal or an ARM signal. If SYNC OUT is selected this output will
carry a strobe that corresponds to the selected exposure time of the camera. If
ARM is selected it will be active when the camera runs in circular recording
mode.
The cameras can be synchronized by an internal or an external signal. The
external synchronization is used to run more than one camera synchronized to
each other by connecting them to the same external sync signal. The fre-
quency of the external sync signal must be below the free-running frame rate
of the cameras. The sync in is also used to synchronize a slave camera to the
strobe out signal of a master camera. The frequency of the master strobe sig-
nal is less than the free-running frequency of the slave camera.
