CHAPTER 3 Settings and Measurement
Network Time setting
TheGL820hasafunctionthatsynchronizesthetimetothatofatimeserverviaEthernet.
This section describes settings to be made to use this function.
Setting Selections available
Network Time Enables or disables this function.
Off : This function is disabled. Time adjustment is not performed.
On : This function is enabled to perform time adjustment.
Time Server Sets the domain name of a time server (NTP server) to be used.
Time Zone SetsthetimezoneofanareainwhichtheGL820istobeused.(Japan:+09:00)
Synchronized
Time
SetsthetimeatwhichtheGL820synchronizestothetimeserver.Whenthespeciedtimecomes,
timesynchronizationoperationisperformedusingamethodspeciedinSynchronizationMode.
Adjust Mode Synchronizeatonce,SynchronizegraduallySetsthemodeinwhichtheGL820synchronizestothe
time server.
Synchronizeatonce :Whenthesynchronizationtimecomes,theGL820synchronizestothetime
server at once.
Synchronizegradually :Evenwhenthesynchronizationtimecomes,theGL820doesnotsynchro-
nizeatonce.
Itsynchronizestothetimeofthetimeservergradually.
Therateofadjustmentisabout43secondsperday(equivalenttoaround10msper20seconds).
Connection Test Performs connection test to the time server. When the connection test is performed, a message is dis-
played. If connection cannot be established, check the settings and perform the connection test again.
* If the connection test is passed, the following message is displayed.
Synchronizationisnotperformedifthetimedifferencewiththetimeserveris500msorless.
