DME
Functions
Capacity control, DME
The electronically controlled variable-speed motor of
the DME pumps provides optimum control of the stroke
speed. As shown in the figure below, the duration of
each suction stroke is constant while the duration of
each discharge stroke varies according to the capacity
set, resulting in optimum discharge flow in any oper-
ating situation.
The advantages are as follows:
• The pump is always operating at full stroke length,
irrespective of the capacity set, for optimum accu-
racy, priming and suction.
• A capacity range of 1:1000 (DME 2 to 48) for each
pump size.
• A capacity range of 1:800 (DME 60 to 940) for each
pump size.
• Even and constant dosing ensuring an optimum
mixing ratio at the injection point.
• Significant reduction of pressure surges, preventing
mechanical stress on diaphragm, tubes, connec-
tions and other dosing parts exposed to leakage
and wear.
• The installation is less affected by long suction and
discharge lines.
• Easier dosing of highly viscous and gas-containing
liquids.
The optimum dosing control shown below takes place
in any operating mode.
