2. General information
These installation and operating instructions apply to EN 12845
compliant controllers for fire pump sets driven by an electric
motor.
Therefore, EN 12845 regulations regarding installation, operation
and maintenance must be observed when the controllers are
integrated into pump sets.
These installation and operating instructions are to be used in
conjunction with the following documentation:
• wiring diagram for the controller
• installation and operating instructions for the fire pump
• installation and operating instructions for the electric motor
• installation and operating instructions for the pressure switch
• service instructions for the controller.
3. Applications
The controller is designed for automatic operation of fire pump
sets driven by an electric motor smaller than 55 kW. It is used for
automatic start of the pump and monitoring of the pump operation
as well as for manual start of the pump at start-up and during
maintenance work.
The controller must only be used for control of fire pump sets
supplied by Grundfos.
The control cabinet must not be used to supply voltage to other
pump systems, not even other fire pump sets.
