4) Extend the multiplexer to the engine compartment and connect the 38-
pin male adapter to the vehicle-side 38-pin female socket. Be sure not
to place the multiplexer near the hot or moving parts.
IMPORTANT!
Utmost care must be taken when aligning and inserting the Mercedes Benz 38 pin connector
into the vehicles diagnostic connector socket. Using excessive force or sideways movement
may result in bent or damaged connector pins and render the connector unserviceable
Make sure to turn the ignition key OFF before connecting the diagnostic adapter.
Align the 38-pin connector's
two exterior side lugs into the
corresponding vehicle
connector cut outs
Make sure to hold the
connector vertically aligned
After checking for perfect
connector alignment, gently use
firm downwards pressure to
push the connector into position

5) Power is supplied to the ULTRASCAN plus/MULTISCAN plus head unit
through the 38-pin adapter, therefore extending power cord to the
vehicle battery or cigarette lighter socket is not necessary.
