SULFATE
• Add one packet of HI93751‑0 Sulfate Reagent.
• Replace the cap and invert gently for 1 minute (about
30 inversions).
• Reinsert the cuvette into the instrument and close the lid.
• Press Timer and the display will show the countdown prior to the measurement or, alternatively,
wait for 5 minutes and press Read. When the timer ends the meter will perform the reading.
The instrument displays the concentration in mg/L of sulfate (SO
4
2-
).
INTERFERENCES
Interferences may be caused by:
Calcium (as CaCO
3
) above 20000 mg/L
Chloride (as Cl¯) above 40000 mg/L
Magnesium (as MgCO
3
) above 10000 mg/L
Silica (as SiO
2
) above 500 mg/L
Color or suspended matter in large amounts will interfere: suspended matter should be removed by
previous filtration.
Organic matter in large amounts may impede the precipitation of barium sulfate.
