Symptom Observed Action
RF-5800H 150-Watt Vehicular System does not power up.
RF-5800H 150-Watt Base Station or Transit Case System does not
power up.
Refer to TAP 1.
Refer to TAP 2.
HIGH VSWR DETECTED displayed on RF-5800H-MP KDU. Perform the following:
• Check RF cables and antenna, and
replace as necessary.
• Replace RF-382A.
• Replace RF-5833H-PA.
• Replace Lowpass Filter (if
installed).
• Replace RF-5800H-MP.
POWER AMP FAULT: BAD HARMONIC FILTER DETECTED
displayed on RF-5800H-MP KDU.
Perform the following:
• Check RF cables, and replace as
necessary.
• Replace RF-5833H-PA.
• Replace Lowpass Filter (if
installed).
POWER AMP FAULT: CANT COMMUNICATE WITH PA
displayed on RF-5800H-MP KDU.
Perform the following:
• Replace PA-R/T Control Cable.
• Replace RF-5833H-PA.
POWER AMP FAULT: DC INPUT TOO HIGH displayed on
RF-5800H-MP KDU.
Perform the following:
• Check level of Direct Current (DC)
input voltage is within specification
(vehicular).
• Replace RF-5051PS (base).
• Replace RF-5833H-PA.
POWER AMP FAULT: OVER_CURRENT displayed on
RF-5800H-MP KDU.
Perform the following:
• Replace RF-5833H-PA.
POWER AMPLIFIER TOO HOT displayed on RF-5800H-MP KDU. Perform the following:
• Unkey RF-5800H-MP and allow
RF-5833H-PA to cool. Confirm
RF-5833H-PA is well ventilated
and not in direct sunlight. If
problem persists, remove and
replace RF-5833H-PA.
POWER AMP: WARNING displayed on RF-5800H-MP KDU. Perform the following:
• Retune RF-5800H-MP and rekey. If
fault clears continue operating.
• Replace RF-5833H-PA.
