RF-5800H 150-WATT COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
TROUBLESHOOTING
TAP-1: NO POWER UP (VEHICULAR)
RF-5800H 150-Watt Vehicular System does not power up.
INITIAL CHECKS
Make sure all cables are connected.
Make sure all units are properly seated.
Make sure all connections are tight and there are no broken
connections.
PROCEDURE
Check fuse in vehicle circuit supplying radio system.
YN
Is fuse good?
Remove and replace fuse.
Check DC voltage at the output of DC Power Cable Assembly
(10181-9826-020) connected to J10 on the RF-5833H-PA.
YN
Is DC voltage present?
Remove and replace DC Power Cable Assembly
(10181-9826-020).
YN
Does system power up?
Check that voltage source is between +22.5
and 32 VDC. Repair voltage source if out of
this range.
Return system to operational readiness.
Check CB1 on RF-5833H-PA.
YN
Is CB1 closed?
Reset circuit breaker and retest system.
YN
Does CB1 stay closed?
Remove and replace RF-5833H-PA and
retest system.
YN
Does CB1 stay closed?
Reinstall previously removed
RF-5833H-PA. Remove and
replace RF-5800H-MP and
retest system.
YN
Does CB1 stay closed?
Refer to
troubleshooting index
to identify faulty
system cable.
