8.2.18 Checking the exhaust gas back pressure sensor
Safety notes
CAUTION
Danger of burns.
There is a danger of burns when working on a hot engine.
▪ Let the engine cool.
▪ Wear safety gloves.
CAUTION
Damage to the exhaust gas back pressure sensor by clean-
ing.
The exhaust gas back pressure sensor is destroyed by cleaning
in the majority of cases. The correct operation of the sensor can
not be easily checked. The exhaust gas back pressure sensor
must therefore always be replaced when it is sooted up.
