6. Place handpiece(s) in sterilization pouch(es) and sterilize according to manufacturer recommendation.
MACHINE CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Do not use hot water, solvents, chemicals or auto‑sterilizer for cleaning machine or accessories.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment while cleaning unit.
• Only use Maxima XTEND oil tray liners (570‑0081) in the oil tray. The use of any other substance may result in oil leakage or gassing of
the machine.
Maintenance Unit
Note: It is recommended that the maintenance unit be wiped down every evening.
1. Turn o power to maintenance machine and unplug unit from wall.
2. Wipe down all internal and external surfaces with a soft damp cloth or soft damp paper towel.
3. Discard cloth or paper towel in biohazard bin.
Window Cover
Note: It is recommended that the window cover (570‑0082) be replaced when it starts to yellow or change color.
1. Open front door and remove protective window cover.
2. Clean window cover by rinsing with lukewarm tap water or isopropyl alcohol and wipe dry with paper towel. Discard paper towel in
biohazard bin.
3. Install clean protective window cover.
Oil Tray
Note: It is recommended that oil tray liners (570‑0081) be replaced every 2 weeks.
1. Remove oil tray from bottom of machine.
2. Remove old oil tray liner and discard in biohazard bin.
3. Clean tray by rinsing with lukewarm tap water or isopropyl alcohol and wipe dry with paper towel. Discard paper towel in biohazard
bin.
4. Place 1 new oil tray liner into tray and insert oil tray into machine.
Service Adapters
• Missing or improperly seated o‑rings on service adapter may cause handpiece to become stuck on adapter or o‑ring(s) may become
damaged.
Note: It is recommended that service adapters be cleaned weekly.
1. Remove service adapter from threaded connector.
2. Clean service adapter by rinsing with lukewarm tap water or isopropyl alcohol and wipe dry with paper towel. Discard paper towel in
biohazard bin.
3. Inspect service adapter to ensure that all o‑rings are properly seated in their grooves.
4. Attach service adapter following instructions in Step 4 in ASSEMBLY SET UP.

1. Turn o power to maintenance machine and unplug unit from wall.
2. Press the “push” label on lubricant door to open (Fig. 7).
3. Move lever into unlocked position (Fig. 9) while holding spray can to help guide it down.
4. Remove empty spray can and dispose according to local regulations.
5. Place Maxima XTEND Spray (570‑0073) on stand (Fig. 8).
6. Ensure can nozzle is properly seated, then move lever into locked position (Fig. 9).
