5.3 Disposing of the Instrument
The instrument has a built-in backup lithium battery.
When disposing of the instrument, remove the lithium battery and dispose of it in accordance with
local regulations.
WARNING
Turn o the power button and disconnect the power cord and all cables
before removing the lithium battery.
Failure to do so could cause electric shock.
Store the removed lithium battery out of reach of children.
Failure to do so could allow young children to accidentally ingest battery.

Removing the lithium battery
You will need: a Phillip’s head screwdriver (No. 2) and a pair of needle-nose pliers

Verify that the instrument has been turned o and disconnect the power code and all cables.

Turn over the instrument and remove the six screws shown in the gure.

Remove the lower case.

Pull up on the lithium battery on the printed circuit board and cut the positive and electrode
leads with the plier.
