When multiple users are sharing the instrument, it is recommended to congure settings
after rst initializing the instrument.
When you want to measure temperature with a high degree of
precision
You want to measure temperature with a higher degree of precision than is possible
with thermocouples.
U8551 Universal Unit, LR8531 Wireless Universal Unit
See “1.3 Options” (p. 33).
You can measure temperature using a resistance temperature detector with the U8551 and
LR8531.
When you want to measure temperatures at multiple points using
thermocouples
You want to measure 300 or more temperature readings at the same time.
U8552 Voltage/Temp Unit, LR8532 Wireless Voltage/Temp Unit
See “1.3 Options” (p. 33).
You can measure 330 temperature readings using four U8552 modules and seven LR8532
modules.
When you want to measure voltage at a sampling interval of 1 ms
You want to record output from an amp’s built-in sensor at high speed.
U8553 High Speed Voltage Unit, LR8533 Wireless High Speed Voltage Unit
See “1.3 Options” (p. 33).
You can record the sensor output voltage at 1 ms intervals.
When you want to measure strain at a sampling interval of 1 ms
You want to record strain gage-type converter output, for example pressure or
acceleration.
U8554 Strain Unit, LR8534 Wireless Strain Unit
See “1.3 Options” (p. 33).
The U8554/LR8534 has a built-in bridge box. You can record strain at 1 ms sampling
intervals.
