Main circuit smoothing capacitors and cooling fins
of the controller and fan inverter require periodic
inspection and replacement.
(See the sections 8.2 and 8.3.)
Service lives of these smoothing capacitors vary
depending on the energization time of the controller
and fan inverter and the ambient temperature (see the
chart left).
For the Vplus, the controller and fan inverter are forci-
bly cooled by the compressor’s cooling fan. The
smoothing capacitors must be replaced with new ones
about every 8 years.
However, the higher the ambient temp. is through out a
year, the shorter the service life of the capacitor as
shown in the left figure.
For replacement, contact your Hitachi distributor.
● When cooling fins are heavily stained:
①Disconnect the power, wait for 10 minutes, and
remove the front door and right cover.
Then, detach the motor duct.
② Remove the fin cover (1) as shown in the figure.
Immediately after the power-off, the cooling fins,
and fin cover (1) are hot. Wait until they are cooled
down, and then commence cleaning.
③ Check for dust in the DCBL controller cooling fin
and fan inverter cooling fin and blow away any mat-
ter adhering to the fins by blowing dry air from
above using an angled Air Cleaning Pipe.
④ Mount the covers as before.
