FunctionAllowstheusertoselectoneofthe5builtinfunctions.Trackisnotlistedbecauseit
isalwaysavailablewithoutaccessingthemenu.
Record Rate Allows the user to selectfrom a list of sample rates for use with therecording
functions.
EnablePeakLoggingAllowstheusertoenableordisablepeaklogging.Normallythiswould
beenabled,butinsomeinstances,theuserwantstoevaluatelimitsonlywithoutstoringpeaks.
BydisablingPeakLogging,thePMAC3000willpeakeventsindefinitelywithoutthepossibilityof
fillingthememoryandrequiringuserinteraction.
Under Analog Settings, the user may set up everything needed to define a process to be
monitoredorcontrolled.
UnitTypeThisselectionallowstheusertochooseunitsfrompredefinedtypes.Force,Torque
orDisplacement.
Units This selection allows the user to choose the engineering units to be used for a given
process.Theseunitsmayormaynotbethesameastheengineeringunitsinwhichthesensoris
calibrated.
ZeroModeAllowstheuserto
selectbetweenAbsoluteandRelativezero.
ThresholdThisvalueisusedinallthepeakfunctionsaswellastheautomaticrecordfunction.
Itdefinestheloadatwhichtheprocessstarts.
LowLimitThislimitvaluedrawsa linebetweenpassandfail onthelowersideof
theacceptable
bandofload.Thisvalueismagnitudeonly.Thesignisnotevaluated.
TargetThisvaluedeterminesatwhichloadthetargetoutputintheDigitalI/Obecomesactive.
High Limit This limit value draws a line between pass and fail on the upper side of the
acceptablebandofload.Thisvalueismagnitudeonly.Thesignisnotevaluated.
Note:RegardingLimits…Limitsarejustnumbers.Theyarenotchangedbytheapplicationwhen
differentengineeringunitsareselected.Forexample,ifasensorisconnectedthatisdisplayed
ininlb,andtheThresholdvalueis5.0,thentheprocesswilltriggerat5.0inlb.Iftheengineering
unitsarethenchangedtoftlb,theprocesswillnowtriggerat5.0ftlb.Thisbehaviorisconsistent
foralllimits,includingtheTarget.ItalsoappliestotheEncoderSettings.
UnderEncoderSettings(encoderenableddevices
only),theusermayfurtherdefineaprocessto
bemonitoredorcontrolled.Nonencoderenableddeviceswillshowtheseitemsdisabled.
