GeneralandAnalogSettings.Eachofthesepresetsarestoredintheirownmemoryandarenot
necessarily the values stored in the currently active settings.The user may read any of the
presetsintotheGUIbypressingthecorrespondingbuttonunderGetgeneralsettingsfromPMAC
3000.The GUI
will then show the said preset’s values in the General and Analog Settings.
Likewise,theusermaymakeanychangestothevaluesshownontheGUIscreen,andwritethem
toagivenpresetbyclickingthegivenpresetbuttonunderSendgeneralsettingstoPMAC3000.
Saving the
values to a preset does not make them thecurrently active settings.It just stores
themunder thegivensetting.Tomakethemcurrentlyactive,theusermustclick theCurrent
buttonintheSendgeneralsettingstoPMAC3000section.
Forexample,let’ssaytheuserwantstostorethecurrentsettingsinpreset#4.Theuserwould
click the Current button under Get general settings from PMAC 3000.This would load the
settingsthatthePMAC3000iscurrentlyusingintotheGUI.Next,theuserwouldclickbutton#4
underSendgeneralsettingstoPMAC3000tosavethedisplayedsettingstopreset#4.
Inthisnextexample,let’ssaytheuserwantstoreadthesettingsfrompreset#2andmakethem
thecurrentsettings.Theuserwouldclickbutton#2underGetgeneralsettingsfromPMAC3000.
Thiswouldloadthesettingsfrompreset2intothe
GUI.Next,theuserwouldclicktheCurrent
button under Send general settings to PMAC 3000 to save the currently displayed settings as
current.
Sensor Cal Settings apply to the calibration of the attached sensor.The user may read the
calibration settings of the currently attached sensor by clicking Get
sensor cal settings from
sensorattachedtoPMAC3000.IfthesensorisanautoIDtype,itcannotbeoverwritten.Ifnot,
itmaybeoverwritten.Change thevaluesasneededandclickSendsensorcalsettingstoPMAC
3000.CalibrationsettingscanbereadfromorsavedtoafilebyclickingLoadsensorcalsettings
fromfileorSavesensorcalsettingstofilerespectively.
UnitType–Choosethetypeofsensorthatisconnected.Ie.Force,TorqueorDisplacement
Units–ChoosethecorrectengineeringunitsthatareavailableunderthegivenUnitType.
FullScale–
EnterthesensorfullscalecapacityintheengineeringunitsselectedunderUnits.
mV/V–Entertheoutputofthesensoratfullscalecapacity.
PPR–Futureoption.
Note:Regardingengineeringunits…Therearetwolocationsforengineeringunitsshownonthis
screen.TheUnitsselectionlistedunderSensorSettingsrefersonlytotheengineeringunitsin
whichthesensorhasbeencalibrated.TheUnitsunderAnalogSettingsreferstotheengineering
unitsthatthePMAC3000willusefordisplaypurposes.Forexample,iftheconnectedsensoris
a100inlbsensor,theuserwouldputin100forthe Capacityandinlbforthe Units.Ofcourse,
theUnitsTypewouldbetorque.Now,iftheuserwishestotakemeasurementsininlb,thenthe
Units section under Analog Settings must also be set to inlb.The user can, however, set the
displayedunitstosomeothertorqueunits,suchasftlb.ThePMAC3000willscalethereadings
toshowthecorrectvaluesinftlb.Thisonlyappliestoreadingstakenfromthispointon.Any
previously captured readings will be stored in the engineering units that were selected at the
time.
