Starting enrichment thermal valve wires
Crank the engine by operating
the starting mechanism.
Starter motor type:
For the remote control type,
turn the engine switch to
‘‘ON’’.
Operate the starter motor.
Operate for 4 seconds,
wait for 10 seconds, then
operate again for 4
seconds.
The button or engine
switch for operating the
starter motor varies
according to model type
(see pages and ).
On the remote control type,
turn the engine switch to
‘‘OFF’’.
Recoil starter type:
Pull the recoil starter grip
10 or more times.
Extract the fuel from the starting
enrichment system fuel passage.
Without the choke knob:
Remove the starting enrichment
thermal valve wires.
The fuel passage is opens up.
Gas assist tilt type (see page

Power tilt type (see page )
Tilt up the outboard motor 15°
25°.
Turn the outboard motor all the
waytotheleft.
