    • C
      cduffySep 9, 2025
If there are no LEDs, beep, or motor spin, check the transformer, outlet, and power strip. Also, ensure that the cable is properly plugged into the scanner. This indicates that no power is being supplied to the scanner.

How to fix Honeywell 7820 Solaris that is not transmitting each character?
    • S
      Susan RobertsonAug 23, 2025
If the Honeywell Barcode Reader is not transmitting each character, increase the intercharacter delay setting and adjust whether the F0 break is transmitted (KBW Interface ONLY). It may be necessary to try this in both settings. The configuration may not be correct.

Why Honeywell Barcode Reader powers up, but does not scan and/or beep?
    • C
      Chad ReyesAug 27, 2025
If the Honeywell Barcode Reader powers up but doesn't scan or beep, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, ensure that the symbology you are scanning is enabled. By default, UPC/EAN, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 93, Code 128, and Codabar are enabled. Secondly, the scanner might be configured for a character length lock, or a minimum length that the scanned bar code does not meet. Verify that the bar code meets the configured criteria, as the scanner defaults to a minimum of 4 characters for Non-UPC/EAN codes.

What to do if Honeywell Barcode Reader scans a bar code, but locks up after the first scan?
    • B
      Brianna RiveraAug 27, 2025
If the Honeywell Barcode Reader scans a bar code but locks up after the first scan (blue LED stays off), it may be configured to support some form of host handshaking but isn't receiving the signal. If the scanner is set up for ACK/NAK, RTS/CTS, XON/XOFF, or D/E, verify that the host cable and host are properly supporting the handshaking.
