DTMF [56.1.01.1]
When DTMF (Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) format is selected, the operation of the
Telecom module is similar to that of a hardwired 8 or 16 channel communicator. The
Telecom module transmits as an eight channel communicator if channels 9 to 16 are
programmed as Spare.
Notes:
1. DTMF is fast format.
2. A battery low condition is always sent to the ARC as a code 8 in the status channel.
This may cause problems for some ARCs. If a channel is assigned as Battery Low, then
both the channel and the code 8 in channel 9 are transmitted.
Programming Channels
When you select DTMF, the keypad displays 1=Channels 1 – 16. All 16 channels can be
individually programmed.
To access the Channels option press ent. The programming details of the first channel are
displayed.
Select the required channel, or enter the channel number directly.
DTMF Channels 1-16 [56.1.01.1.1]
Each channel can be programmed with the following attributes:
1=Output Function
2=Output Mode
3=Output Polarity
4=Diag Recording (option not available)
5=Descriptor (option not available)
6=Control (option not available)
7=Output Groups
DTMF Channel Output Function [56.1.01.1.1.1]
Any of the system output functions (see Program Outputs [53]) can be assigned to each of
the channels 1 to 16. Channel 3 defaults to output function 04=INTRUDER and Channel 7
defaults to 20=CONFIRM. All other channels default to 11=SPARE.
Select the required output function, and then press
ent to assign the function to the selected
channel. For example, a PA function programmed on channel 2 results in a PA code
transmitted on channel 2 to the ARC, when there is a PA alarm activation.
