4.6 Drive Chain and Driver Pad Maintenance
Turn off power and Lockout/Tagout all power to the conveyor before performing
maintenance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal
injury.
4.6.1 Inspecting the Chain Tension
Once per month, check the chain tension to determine if it is necessary to adjust the
take-up sprocket position in the tail end section.
The chain should be snug, but not tight. A chain properly tensioned should have just
a slight bow in it as the return chain goes onto the drive sprocket.
