3.5.2 Automatic Chain Oiler
The automatic chain track oiler, located in the drive unit, is available in two different
configurations. Below is a description of each.
Magnetic Sled Style Oiler
The automatic magnetic oiler is designed to dispense oil on the chain by using a
magnetic sled which determines whether the chain needs oil by monitoring the drag
force on the plastic guide track caused by friction from the chain. When this friction
causes the drag force and an assist spring's tension to overcome the actuator
valve’s actuation threasehold, the sensor bracket depresses a mechanical two-way
valve that allows oil to flow through the nozzle to lubricate the chain until the friction
drops to an acceptable level.
