8. Orient and install the connecting link, making sure the extended pin matches the
chain’s 1.25-inch extended pin centers. See illustration on the next page.
9. Install the connecting plate.
10. Orient and install the spring clip with its closed end facing the chain’s direction of
travel. This prevents the clip from being pulled from the connecting link.
11. Adjust the take-up sled to tension the chain. See topic Chain Tension in this chapter.
12. Adjust the driver pad length. See topic Adjusting the Driver Pad Length in this
chapter.
