6. Pull the chain through the chain track, around the tail end sprocket, and back to the
drive sprocket. The extended pins must face up.
Note: All chain pins must be on 1-1/4-inch centers to properly mate with the driver
pad. When connecting short chain segments, verify the correct end is connected to
maintain 1-1/4-inch centers. Refer to the illustration in topic Removing Chain Links
in this chapter.
7. Install the connecting links as required to couple the chain segments.
8. Wrap both chain ends around the drive sprocket to determine the length required.
9. Using a chain breaker, break the chain at the correct length, and install special
connecting link with extended pin. (Do not use offset or half links.)
10. Adjust the tail end sprocket to eliminate slack.
11. Install the new driver pad, refer to the following topic Driver Pad Replacement.
