INITIAL
INSPECTION
Inspect
the
shipping
container
for
damage
.
If
the
shipping
container
or
cushioning
material
is
damaged,
it
shouldbe kept
until
the
con-
tents
of
the
shipment
havebeen
checked
for
completeness
and
the
instrument
has
been
checked
mechanically
and
electrically
.
Accessories
supplied
with
the
instrument
are
listed
under
Accessories
Supplied
in
section
1
of
this
manual
.
The
self
test
procedure
is
described
in
this
section
and
electrical
perfor-
mance
verification
functionsare
described
in
section
5
.
If
the
contents
are
incomplete,
if
there
is
mechanical
damage
or defect, or
if
the
instrument
does
not
pass
the
Self
Test
Performance
Verification,
notify
the
nearest
Hewlett-Packard
Office
.
If
the
shipping
con-
tainer
is
damaged,
or
the
cushioning
materials
show
signs
of
stress,
notify
the
carrier
as well
as
the
Hewlett-Packard
Office
.
Keep
the ship-
ping
materials
for carrier's
inspection
.
The
Hewlett-Packard
office
will
arrange
for
repair
or
replacement
at
HP
option
without
waiting
for
claim
settlement
.

operating

Note
the

condensing
humidity
limitation
.
Condensation
within
the
instrument
cabinet
can
cause
poor
operation
or
malfunction
.
Protection
should
be
provided
against
temperatureextremes
whichcause
condensation
within
the
instrument
.
