measurements

You
can measure the following time parameters with the oscilloscope:
frequency, period, duty cycle, width, rise time, and
fall
time. The
following
exercise
guides you through the Time keys
by
making a rise
time measurement. Figure 9 shows a pulse with some of the time
measurement points.
1 Connect a signal to
the
oscilloscope and obtain a stable display.
When the signal has a well-defined top and bottom, the rise time and
fall time measurements are made at the
10%
and
90%
levels.
If
the
oscilloscope cannot find a well-defined top or bottom, the maximum and
minimum levels are used to calculate the
10%
and
90%
points from.
These levels arc
shown
on page 37 in figures
11
and
12.
