The
TEST
UNIT READY command provides a means
to
check if the logical unit is ready.
This
is
not a request for a self test.
If
the logical unit
is
up
to
speed and ready for media
access, this command
will
return a GOOD status. This does not assure
that
media access will
be successful.
If
the drive is not up
to
speed, this command
will
return a
status
of CHECK
CONDITION. A REQUEST SENSE command will return a Sense Key of NOT READY and
an Additional
Sense Code of DRIVE NOT READY.
