Reformat Track
The
REFORMAT TRACK command will cause
the
addressed
track
on
the
disk drive
to
be
formatted according
to
the
setting of
the
Transfer Length field.

REFORMAT TRACK will cause
the
loss of all user
data
on
the
specified
track.
Use of this command should
be
restricted
to
development
or
other
highly controlled environments. Improper use of this command may cause
the
reformatted tracks
to
become unusable, or
other
user tracks
to
become
inaccessible. Loss
of
defect information may also result. Any use
of
this
command other
than
at
Hewlett-Packard approved sites and by
HP
approved
methods may be deemed a violation of warranty.
