62 Wireless configuration
For any AP that is known to you, you can select Grant to move the AP to the Known AP list.
You can select Delete to remove an the AP from the Known AP list.
Note The Detected rogue AP list and Known AP list provide information only. The M210 does
not have control over the APs on these lists and cannot apply any security policies to them.
SSID The Service Set Identifier (SSID) for the AP.
The SSID uniquely identifies a wireless LAN and is also referred to as the
Network Name. It can be up to 32 alphanumeric characters.
Privacy Whether there is any security on the neighboring device.
• Off indicates that the Security mode on the neighboring device is set to
None (no security).
• On indicates that the neighboring device has some security in place.
WPA Whether WPA security is on or off for this AP.
Band The 802.11 band used on this AP, as follows:
• 2.4 indicates 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n mode (or a combination of
the modes).
• 5 indicates 802.11a or 802.11n mode (or both modes).
Channel The channel on which the AP is currently broadcasting.
The channel defines the portion of the radio spectrum that the radio uses for
transmitting and receiving.
The channel is set in the Radio settings. (See “Radio configuration” on
page 54.)
Rate The rate (in megabits per second) at which this AP is currently transmitting.
Signal The detected strength of the radio signal from this AP. If you hover the
mouse pointer over the bars, a number appears and shows the strength in
decibels (dB).
Beacons The total number of beacons received from this AP since it was first
discovered.
