USB board 738400-001
Before removing the USB board, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 32), and then remove the following components:
a. Service door (see
Service door on page 33)
b. Base enclosure (see
Base enclosure on page 55)
Remove the USB board:
1. Position the top cover upside down, with the battery bay facing away from you.
2. Remove the three Torx screws (1) connecting the USB board to the system board.
3. Lift the inside edge of the USB board (2), and remove it from the base enclosure.
Reverse this procedure to install the USB board.
