Power button board

Power button board (includes cable) 738399-001
Before removing the power button board, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 32), and then remove the following components:
a. Service door (see
Service door on page 33)
b. Base enclosure (see
Base enclosure on page 55)
c. USB board (see
USB board on page 64)
d. Speakers (see
Speakers on page 65)
e. Power connector cable (see
Power connector cable on page 66)
Remove the power button board:
1. Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you.
2. Lift up the power button board cable (1).
3. Remove the two Phillips screws (2) that secure the power button board to the top cover.
4. Remove the power button board (3) and cable.
Reverse this procedure to install the power button board.
