6. Slide the optical drive (2) out of the optical drive bay.
Follow these steps to remove a slim optical drive:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 20).
2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 21).
3. Disconnect the optical drive data cable (1) from the optical drive.
4. Disconnect the optical drive power cable (2) from the optical drive.
5. Press on the optical drive release latch (1) that secures the optical drive to the drive cage.
