System board
NOTE: The system board spare park kit includes replacement thermal material.
Follow these steps to remove the system board:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 20).
2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 21), and then remove the following components:
a. Drive cage (see Drive cage on page 36)
b. Serial port module (see Serial port module on page 28)
c. Fan-sink (see Fan-sink on page 42)
NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the processor (see Processor on page 44) is
removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board.
3. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
(1) Power supply cables (from three locations)
(2) Fan cable
(3) Speaker cable
(4) Drive power cables (from two locations)
(5) Drive SATA cables (from ve locations)
