Technical white paper | HP StoreVirtual 4000 Storage
On platforms with just two network adapters, it is not recommended to implement two networks as the conguration
does not meet the standards of a highly availability design. In those environments it recommended to use routing
between the iSCSI network and the management network with the appropriate network security policies.
To enable a separate management network, congure the network interface or interface bond in the HP StoreVirtual
Centralized Management Console and make sure that the bond which used for iSCSI and cluster communication as
“LeftHand OS Interface” on the Communication tab of the storage nodes’ network properties (see gure 6).

IP addressing
Using static IP addresses for HP StoreVirtual 4000 Storage is best practice. In cases where DHCP is used, reserve IP
addresses for all storage systems. Bonds cannot be congured with DHCP, therefore, manually assign the IP address to
the bond. When using separate networks for iSCSI and management (on models with more than two network interfaces),
the IP addresses should be on a separate subnet.
