Storage node
Network interfaces on HP StoreVirtual 4000 Storage are used for communication between storage nodes in a cluster as
well as storage access via iSCSI. Depending on which HP StoreVirtual platform is deployed, there are various connectivity
options available:
• Rack-mount HP StoreVirtual 4000 Storage models come with four 1GbE and some come with two additional
10GbE interfaces
• Previous generations came with two 1GbE ports
(HP LeftHand P4000; HP P4000 G2 Storage Systems)
• HP StoreVirtual 4000 Storage for HP BladeSystem comes with two 10GbE Flex-10 ports
(HP LeftHand P4800 G2 for HP BladeSystem)
• HP StoreVirtual VSA comes with one virtual network interface
(Supports 1GbE or 10GbE physical adapters on virtual switches)
HP StoreVirtual 4330 Storage and HP P4000 G2 Storage Systems may be upgraded with two additional 10GbE ports.
Fibre Channel-capable storage nodes, such as the HP StoreVirtual 4330 FC Storage, come with two 10GbE ports and
four 1GbE ports. Storage nodes which have been upgraded or come with 10GbE interfaces cannot be upgraded to more
network interfaces.
Storage nodes require minimal user conguration to bring them online as available systems within the Centralized
Management Console except for cabling and IP addressing. Our guidance for conguring network adapter settings such
as network bonding, jumbo frames, ow control, interface duplex, and speed are described in the sections to follow.
IP addressing and network interface settings on storage nodes can be congured using the Centralized Management
Console or through the text menu-driven conguration interface (expect bonding) on the storage node.
