3. Remove the PCIe retainer fan (3) from the computer.
To install the PCIe retainer fan, push in and rotate the assembly until the connector on the PCIe retainer
mates with the receptacle on the front card guide.
Front card guide and fan
To remove the front card guide and fan, use these procedures.
Before removing the front card guide and fan, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 26).
2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 29).
3. Remove the CPU/memory panel (see CPU/memory panel on page 32).
4. Remove the drive/memory fan (see Memory fan on page 40).
5. Remove the PCIe retainer panel (see PCIe retainer panel on page 49).
Remove the front card guide and fan:
1. Disconnect the front card guide and fan cable from the system board (1).
2. Disconnect the system power cables (2) from the front card guide and fan.
You may need to disconnect more than one system power cable from the front card guide and fan.
3. Release the two tabs (3) on the top edge of the front card guide and fan from the computer chassis.
