3.4 Requirements for Optical Fiber Management
The BYPASS OP9000 can be installed in many ways according to the equipment
room conditions. This section introduces the basic principles and requirements for
arranging and bundling the optical fibers.
Based on these principles and requirements, please arrange and bundle the optical
fibers as per specific installation conditions.
Note
To ensure the orderliness and correctness of optical fiber installation and
convenience of maintenance, it is required to identify various optical fibers with
labels during on-site installation. Refer to Appendix C "Engineering Labels for
Cables" for the way to paste labels and the information on them.
Prior to installation of the optical fiber, it is recommended to attach temporary
labels to the both ends of the optical fiber to avoid confusion.
3.4.1 Basic Principles
For fibers inside the cabinet, route them along the left cabinet column and
bind them when necessary on the column.
For fibers outside the cabinet, the corrugated pipe is required, which should
be extended into the cabinet about 8 cm.
With the protection of the corrugated pipe, optical fibers can go through the
inter-layer (the space between the cement floor and the ESD protection floor)
or the wiring troughs in the equipment room installed with supports and ESD
protection floors.
If the optical fibers are led-out from the top of the cabinet with the protection
of the corrugated pipe, a cable frame should be built over the cabinet top for
cabling. In the case that there is an interval of 0.8 m between the cable frame
and the cabinet top, a wiring ladder can be used.
3.4.2 Requirements for Fiber Routing
In hardware installation, the corrugated pipes should be cut as required. As
the sharp edge of the cut is likely to scratch or nick the optical fiber, it is
strongly suggested that the sharp edge be wrapped with adhesive tape.
