3.2 Dual-channel optical line protection board(DCP)
DCP: dual-channel optical line protection board
Functions
DCP board can provide dual channels optical line protection, to guarantee
that service can be normally received in case of line faults.
The protecting mode can send signals through both fibers and selectively
receive signal from single fiber, also supports dual-end switching. When
signal is sent, one optical signal is divided into two equal parts and these two
equal parts are sent at the same time. When signal is received and the
performance of the working fiber declines, the system will automatically
switch service from the working path to the protecting path. The second
channel also synchronously switch service from the working path to
protecting path as the first channel. For such a protection, switching is stable
and quick.
Working Principle
The functional block diagram of DCP board is shown in Figure 3-2.
