Changing the tie rod and the
tie rod elbows
Dismantling
1. Unscrew the nuts (29) half a turn.
2. Remove the tie rod elbow (5).
3. Remove the tie rod (4) from the tie rod elbows.

Adjustment
1. Screw the tie rod on so that the length of thread
Z from the tie rod elbows is equal on both sides.
2. Secure the tie rod with the nuts (29).
Mounting
1. Screw the nuts (29) onto the tie rod (4).
2. Fit the tie rod (4) in the tie rod elbows (2).
3. Place a straight 1.5 metre long plank by each
front wheel. The planks are to lie parallel with
the outer face of the tyres.
4. Fit the other tie rod elbow (5), and check the
setting of the front wheels.
5. The distance X is to be equal to Y.
A. If X<Y, remove the tie rod elbow (5) and
increase length of the tie rod.
A. If X>Y, remove the tie rod elbow (5) and
reduce length of the tie rod.
6. Fit the tie rod elbow (5), and check the setting of
the front wheels.
