BRAKES
Rough adjustment
1. Set the brake lever (16) so that it is at right
angles to the brake rod (13).
2. Screw on the nut (19) so that the cup spring (17)
just lies lightly against the brake lever and lock
the nut (19) with nut (20).
3. Press the brake pedal down and ensure that the
spring (18) works.

Adjusting the brake if it is too loose
1. Move the gear lever to neutral and press the
brake pedal enough to allow the parking brake
lever to be moved to the locked position.
2. Remove the split-pin (21) and turn the brake
adjusting nut (22) clockwise until the tractor
cannot be moved by pushing it.
3. Repeat the brake checking procedure, (see
above).
Checking the brakes
1. Position the tractor on a flat surface and stop the
engine.
2. Move the gear lever to neutral.
3. To move the tractor by hand, the bypass lever must be
set at position 0. The bypass lever is located above
the rear right wheel.
4. The brake is adjusted too tight if the tractor cannot be
moved by pushing it. See below for re-adjustment.
5. Press the brake pedal enough to allow the parking
brake lever to be moved to the locked position.
6. The brake is correctly adjusted if the tractor cannot be
moved by pushing it.
7. The brake is adjusted too loosely if the tractor can be
moved by pushing it. See below for re-adjustment.
Adjusting the brake if it is too tight
1. Move the gear lever to neutral.
2. Remove the split-pin (21) and turn the brake
adjusting nut (22) anticlockwise until the tractor
can be moved by pushing it.
3. Repeat the brake checking procedure, (see
above).
