Dual intensity: The ability to have two levels
of
brightness for the characters displayed on the display
screen.
Ferro: The ferrotransformer. (See Figure 4-3.)
Filament:
An
internal part
of
the CRT, located
in
the neck,
that
glows when voltage
is
applied.
Flyplate: The part
of
the
key module, suspended on
springs,
that
snaps on the circuit board when the
key button
is
pressed.
Handrest: The part
of
the
keyboard cover where
the
heel
of
the
hand can
be
placed for greater ease
in
entering data and operating the repeat-action keys.
Keybutton: The molded key
top
that
is
installed on
the
keystem.

The logic type using two base cards. (See
Figures 1-2,4-8, and 4-9.)
Mask: The frame surrounding
the
display screen.
(See Figure 4-5.)
Neck: The narrow portion
of
the
CRT between the
bell
and
the
CRT socket. (See Figure 5-1.)
Prime: The compartment where the power cord
is
attached
to
the display station.
Raster: The visual sweep
of
the electron beam on the
display screen. The raster
is
normally present only
when the intensity control
is
in
the override position.
Security Keylock: A key-operated switch
that
allows
use
of
the display station.
Sweep: A single movement
of
the electron beam,
either
vertically
or
horizontally, on the display screen.
Top card connector: A connector
that
is
used
to
provide additional connections between two or
more
logic cards
that
have connectors on the edge
of
the
card opposite
the
card base.
Yoke: The deflection coil assembly
that
is
installed
on
the
CRT neck.
