CYCLE CLUTCH
RESTORE
CAM REPLACEMENT
There
have
been
instances
where
the
cycle
clutch
re-
store
cam
wi"
break
or
warp
and
require
immediate
replacement.
A
time-saving
method
of
replacing
the
cycle
clutch
restore cam when
it
is not
necessary
to
remove
the
cycle
shaft
is
outlined
below.
1.
Remove
the
two locking screws
and
c lips from
the
white
nylon restore
cam.
2.
Cut
the
white
nylon restore cam
with
a
pair
of
dykes or
wire
cutters
and
remove
the
sections
of
the
cam from
the
shaft.
3.
Using a
fine
hacksaw
or
coping
saw
blade,
cut

De-burr
the
two
sections
of
the
restore
cam,

lace
them on
the
cyc

shaft,
one
at
a
time,
and
install
their
locking screws
and
clips.

.015/1
(3°
to
5°)
of
rotary
motion.
This
ad-
justment must
be
checked
on
both
lobes
of
the
cam
since
the
cam is now
split
and
each
lobe is
independently
adjustable.
It

essary
to
loosen
one
set
screw
to
adjust
the
over-
throw
on
that
particular
lobe.
When
both
sides
are
the
same,
re-tighten
the
set
screws.
This method
of
replacing
a
restore
cam
wi"
save
ap-
proximately
one
hour
and
fifteen
minutes in
the
Field.
It

fix is a
temporary
fix
and
the
white
nylon
restore
cam shou
