Important: The eyebolts must be installed in the concrete floor beneath the
raised floor.
The height from the floor surface to the center of the internal diameter of the
eyebolts must be 25.4 - 63.5 mm (1 - 2.5 in.) (see Figure 10). Higher than 63.5
mm (2.5 in.) might cause excessive lateral deflection to the tie-down
hardware.
v Non-raised (concrete) floor
1. Obtain the service of a qualified consultant or structural engineer to
determine the appropriate concrete anchors to attach the rack-mounting
plates to the concrete floor.
Each anchor must withstand 2268 kg (5000 lb) of pull force.
2. Purchase eight concrete anchors.
Preparing for the rear-door heat exchanger
If the optional rear-door heat exchanger (feature code 0082) was ordered, the
customer must prepare the installation site before an IBM service representative
can install the rear-door heat exchanger on any of your XIV systems.
