Onthisscreenyoucandefineparametersrelatedtoerrorlogging,timesettingsandthenetworknameof
theIntellinetaccesspoint.
GeneralSettings:
Displaysthecurrentsystemtime,allowsto
synchronizethetimewithyourcomputer’s
webbrowser,displaysthecurrentnetwork
nameoftheaccesspoint(default
‘Intellinet300NPoE’), as well as the time
zone.
TimeSynchronization:
TheIntellinetaccesspointdoesn’thaveareal‐timeclockoraCMOSbattery,
andbecauseofthis,everytimeitlosespower,theclockresetstoadefault
date.Topreventthisfromhappening,,youcanuseNTPtogetthetimefrom
theinternet.NotethatsettingupNTPisnotrequiredfortheIntellinetaccess
pointtofunction,butitcanmaketroubleshootingeasierwhenyou’relookingattimestampedlogfiles.
EnabletheNTPclienttoactivatethisfeature.When
activated, the Intellinet access point will provide you
withalistoffourpossibleNTPservers.Thesearegood
choicesingeneral.
The option “Provide NTP server” can be activated, to
turntheIntellinetaccesspointintoanNTPrelaySERVER.
Thatmeans,it’llforwardNTPrequestsfromclientsin
yournetworktoanexternalNTPserver.
Logging:
TheIntellinetaccesspointhastheabilitytocreateahistorylogofimportantevents.Theselogscanbe
storedeitherinthedeviceownmemory,oronanexternalserverusingtheSyslogprotocol,whichisa
standardforforwardinglogmessagesinanIPnetwork.
