3.4.1TheHydrostaticTestingDate
AluminumcylindersMUSTundergotestingeveryfiveyears.

Toavoidfire,death,injuryordamage:
–Cylindersthathavebeenrefinishedand/orexposed
toelevatedtemperaturesMUSTbehydrostatically
testedbeforefilling.Cylindertemperatureshouldnot
exceed60°C(140°F).Aluminumcylinderssubjectto
theactionoffireorheatedtemperaturesinexcessof
177°C(350°F)MUSTbewithdrawnfromservice
andcondemnedbytrainedpersonnel.DONOT
usecausticpaintstrippers.Valveandsafetyrelief
devicesMUSTberemovedandreplacedbytrained
andauthorizedpersonnel.DONOTalterorchange
valveassembly.
–AllcylindersMUSTbeinspectedbeforeattemptingto
fill;otherwise,injuryordamagemayoccur.

1.Examinetheoutsideofthecylinderforthefollowingconditions.
Iftheyexist,contactyourproviderforservice.
•Dentsordings,arcburns,oilorgrease,anyothersigns
ofdamagethatmightcauseacylindertobeunacceptable
orunsafeforuse
2.Examinethecylinderforevidenceoffireorthermaldamage.
Evidenceincludescharringorblisteringofthepaint,orother
protectivecoatingorheatsensitiveindicator.Iffireorthermal
damageisfound,contactyourdealer/HomeCareequipment
providerforareplacement.
3.Inspectthecylinderassemblyforthefollowingconditions.Ifthey
exist,contactyourproviderforareplacement.
•Debris,oilorgrease,noticeablesignsofdamage,signsof
corrosion,signsofexcessiveheatorfiredamage,signsof
pressureleaks
