5.4Disinfecting
RefertothesafetyinformationintheMaintenancesection
beforeperformingthisprocedure.
Followthecleaning/disinfectantproductmanufacturer’sinstructions
foruse,handling,storageanddisposaloftheproduct.
Thisprocedureisfordisinfectingthecylinderassemblyandistobe
performedbytheproviderpriortoapatientchangeandasotherwise
required.
Recommendeddisinfectantproducts:
•Quaternaryammoniumbasedwipesselectedbytheprovider
forthedesireddisinfectingcharacteristics
•70%isopropylalcoholwipes
1.Ensurethecoverisonthefillport.
2.Ifheavilysoiled,firstcleanthecylinderassembly.Refertothe
Cleaningsection.
3.Useawipetodisinfecttheexternalsurfacesofthe
conserver/regulatorandcylinder.Followthedisinfectant
manufacturer’sinstructions.DONOTwipethefillportoroutlet
connection.
4.Wipethecylinderandconserver/regulatorwithadrylintfree
cloth.Ensuretheproductisdrybeforeusing.
5.5Reuse
WARNING!
Beforetransferringtheproducttoadifferentuser,
providersMUSTinspecttheproductfordamageand
disinfecttheproduct.Refertothefollowingprocedures:
–Disinfecting
–CylinderPrefillInspection
–TheHydrostaticTestingDate
–ExternalExamination
Thecylinderassemblycanbetransferredtoadifferentpatient.
Thecannulaisforsinglepatientuseonly.

2.EnsuretheflowdialGisturnedtosetting“0”.
3.PlacethecoveronthefillportH.
4.Storeproductinaclean,dryandcoolareafreefromgrease,oil,
andothersourcesofcontamination.
