9.1Maintenanceintroduction
Theterm“Maintenance“meansanytaskperformedto
ensurethatamedicaldeviceisingoodworkingorder
andreadyforuseasintended.Maintenanceencompasses
differentareas,suchaseverydaycareandcleaning,
inspectionchecks,repairtasksandrefurbishment.
Haveyourvehiclecheckedonceayearbyan
authorizedInvacareproviderinordertomaintainits
drivingsafetyandroadworthiness.
9.2Cleaningthemobilitydevice
Whencleaningthemobilitydevice,payattentiontothe
followingpoints:
•Onlyuseadampclothandgentledetergent.
•Donotuseanyabrasiveorscouringagents.
•Donotsubjecttheelectroniccomponentstoanydirect
contactwithwater .
•Donotuseanyhigh-pressurecleaningdevices.
Disinfection
Sprayorwipedisinfectionusingatestedandrecognised
productispermitted.Alistofthecurrentpermitted
disinfectantsisavailablefromtheRobertKochInstituteat
http://www.rki.de.
9.3Inspectionchecks
Thefollowingtableslistinspectionchecksthatshouldbe
performedbytheuserwithintheindicatedintervals.Ifthe
mobilitydevicefailstopassoneoftheinspectionchecks,
refertothechapterindicatedorcontactyourauthorized
Invacareprovider .Amorecomprehensivelistofinspection
checksandinstructionsformaintenanceworkcanbefound
intheservicemanualforthisdevice,whichcanbeobtained
fromInvacare.Thatmanual,however,isintendedtobeused
bytrainedandauthorizedservicetechnicians,anddescribes
taskswhicharenotintendedtobeperformedbytheuser.
