Install the light curtain with reference to the formula below.
S = K x T + C
S: Safety Distance (the minimum safe distance)
K: Approach Speed (speed at which the hand enters) (mm/s)
(calculated using “≒ 1600 mm/sec”)
T: Reaction Time of the whole system (sec)
T=Tm + Ts
Tm: Machine reaction time
Ts: Sensor reaction time
C: Additional distance corresponding to the light curtain detection ability
Please refer to the table below for KTm values for
S = KTm x KTs + C .
